Responsibilities included the following but not limited to:

  • Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs and to determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols
  • Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary
  • Perform Polysomnographic data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and make adjustments, if necessary
  • Perform routine and complex equipment care and maintenance
  • Document routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure, and significant events in order to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attitude:

  • Ability to organize and plan the activates of subordinates, and to delegate appropriately
  • Computer skills that included word processing, spreadsheets and efficient use of the internet, texting, and email
  • Demonstrate effective written and spoken communication skills
  • Demonstrate appropriate social skills

Required Training and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Registered/Certified Polysomnographic Technologist or Licensed Respiratory Therapist with 6 months sleep technology experience or Registered Nurse with 6 months sleep technology experience
  • Certified in Basic Life Support by the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer or the American Heart Associate Health Care
  • Provider or the American Health and Safety Institute Professional Rescuer
